The objective of the contest was to simply draw the characters in their wedding outfits.

I like that Nintendo's hinted that the two might actually get married. But will they actually tie the knot? Ehhhhh... probably not, which is unfortunate. In a video game series where there's basically no plot, you can totally get away with characters getting married--it would have zero effect on the gameplay and open up new character possibilities. :3

Oh, and no blush for this kiss. A couple that's been together for a long time isn't going to blush when they kiss. Maybe if they were shy in front of the wedding crowd, but it seems both Mario and Peach are used to the limelight.
